This is my third tattoo, and my best friends first. Both tattoos were done by Jordi Ramone (Whom I HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the south carolina area) at Shanghai Tattoo, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We took a long quote, and split it in half across our chests. The entire quote reads “Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future.” My name is Patrick, and I’m the one on the right with “Every sinner has a future” (mentholandsnapbacks.tumblr.com) And my friend Raith is on the left. (goodwithit.tumblr.com). The quote itself has massive significance to both of us. Last june, we both made a huge mistake, that landed us with a felony charge, two misdemeanor charges, a couple days in jail, and three years of probation. We were two very stupid teenagers, smoking weed nonstop, partying every night, and not really caring what happened to us. We thought we were invincible, and nothing could stop us. But now, ten months later, after multiple court dates, emotional moments with family and our girlfriends, and a lot of money spent on lawyers and court fees, we are two completely different people. We’re both 20 years old, with decent jobs, good solid relationships with our girlfriends, doing well in school, and of course keeping up with and following the guidelines of our probation. We no longer get high, party every night, or act stupid in general. Of course, we are in college, and still attend the occasional college party, but as long as our grades stay up, and we keep up with our probation, we don’t see anything wrong with having a little bit of fun every once in awhile. Overall we have become decent, functioning members of society. We messed our lives up, and worked hard to put them back together. We’re saints with bad pasts, and sinners with bright futures.

I am not a very large woman (US Size 6) so I can’t say I’ve experienced the same type of issues I frequently see on here. However, the disturbing issue where people comment on the weight of strangers… I don’t get it.
When I was in college and a bit smaller (US Size 3) I had a number of occasions when larger people would make jokes about my weight. At my current size I’m thick enough where that doesn’t happen anymore, but it is just as hurtful and offensive to say I’m sick with an eating disorder when it is obvious that I don’t have one. People need to stop worrying about what other people look like.
We can insert all the commentary we want about “it’s bad for you” to be fat. If we do, we also have to say the same about smoking, fiber intake, alcohol consumption, etc… there are lots of things that make people less healthy than our (mostly) imaginary ideal. I don’t think I get why the weight issue seems to predominate our perception of health. Why do some people get so personally offended at the way others look?
I got this tattoo on the first of this month at Massive Tattoo in Las Vegas by the wonderful and talented http://www.facebook.com/valerie.logue . The script reads “Je suis la Mer et la Mer est moi.” I am The Sea and The Sea is me. I’m wildly happy with this piece, and so glad I finally got her! (Yes its the same image in my avatar)
For the bluebird in my heart that wants to get out. Charles Bukowski is one of my favourite authors and poets, and this particular poem speaks volumes to me. Done by Bramwell Adey at Rebel Waltz Tattoo in Winnipeg, MB. He did an amazing job, and I definitely look forward to collaborating with him again.
My boyfriend and I have talked about baby names for our kids..
Boy: Gabriel, Isaac,Noah
Female : Apollonia, Penelope
I like them. Your daughter should be a Greek goddess or something.
Beautiful names. I’ve always loved the name Noah, but the obvious religious connotations put me off :-(. But Apollonia- how cool is that! Great choice!
odins ravens ; huginn and muninn
(written in nordic viking runic , meaning thought and memory) With my favorite poet (edgar allan poe) lines around it (passage from the raven to collaborate) it says ;
`Other friends have flown before -
‘On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.’
Then the bird said, `Nevermore.’
i dont explain much of what i do or meaningful things often, but here it is.
Every single aspect and detail of this piece has meaning to me. The two birds, as mentioned are Huginn and Muninn - who are Odins ravens. (old nordic viking mytholgy) as story goes that Odin had one eye, for these two birds flew around the world and would inform him of what was happening everywhere- one with the name of memory and one with the name of thought. In old viking runic found in scandinavia there has been poetry of Odin having the battle of what is more important / what he values more - thought or memory. - One being more passive than the other - (memory being more passive )
( I was also , raised with these stories -OBVIOUSLY not believing them but kind of as a fairy tale sort of a thing. I know all the stories of Valhalla , being half danish and owning all of the Valhalla comics and being obsessed as a child)
the edgar allan poe quote is almost self explanatory , as i have moved three very big times in my life and have traveled to far far places since a very young child, and know people in many parts of the world. no where is really home.Travel and moving from place to place is how i will live for the rest of my life.
Any way, that is the jest of it.
